Volunteers Needed

Do you love animals? Do you, or anyone you know, want to volunteer for a good cause?
Manatee County Animal Services needs help to promote their no kill shelter.

Do you Twitter or Facebook? If you do, why not do a good deed and help get the word out?

For other volunteering ideas, read HERE. Or, contact the Manatee Animal County Services
at: (941) 748-4501. Their shelter is located in both Palmetto and Bradenton, Florida. But,

Prepare for Disasters

Every part of the world suffers from natural disasters. Planning ahead can not only save
your life, but the life of your precious pet. Here are some helpful tips to consider if you
are a pet owner:

The following article is from: Manatee County Animal Services

"The only way to reduce the devastation of a hurricane is to be prepared - including preparation for your pets. Forty-three percent of U.S. households have pets. Florida has over 80% of its population within 10 miles of the coast. There is no geographical point in Florida that is more than 60 miles from saltwater. Any disaster that threatens humans, threatens animals as well.

Making arrangements for your pets is part of your household disaster planning. If you must evacuate your home, plan for your pet too."

The Plan is updated periodically to provide for the animals and to better serve our community. We also have other information that may be helpful, like our No Kill flyer, How To Help Us flyer, and a Pet Information Directory."
